Creating a new instance

Depending on your total capacity you can create one or more instances. If you need more capacity to create a new instance, you can purchase it through your management page. To do this, follow our manual for expanding capacity.

Create a new instance

1. In the left menu, go to "Compute".

2. Here you see a list with all your instances. Click on "Create Instance" to create a new instance

3. Enter the following fields here:

Name of the instance
The name under which the instance must be known to you.

Image
This selects which system image to use. This can be one of the standard images, or one of your own images. 

Flavor
This selects how many processors, memory and disk space the instance should have.

Count
Select the amount of instances to create.

Note: it is not (yet) possible to add more capacity at a later moment without this costing a lot of work. Therefore, keep in mind the capacity that the instance may need in the near future.

Networks
Select the public or private network to bind with your instance

Network Ports
Select the ports to open for the new instance

IP address
The IP address that the instance must use within your internal network. To access the instance from the outside, set a "Floating IP" after creating the instance.

SSH key
You will use this SSH key to remotely connect (through SSH) to your instance. If you have not created an SSH key yet, you may follow our SSH manual.

5. Press "Launch". The instance will be created and launched.
